Our objective was to alter the user interaction and experience in a chess game. To complete this task, we studied the classic behaviors of players during mutliple chess games that varied skill sets among opponents.Through these observations we pulled out aspects of the game that we then tweaked and modified to create a new user experience.
Through multiple phases of concept development, prototyping, and testing, we narrowed down a list of observations into specific leverage points. From here we created meaningful alterations to the time-honored game that changes the user experience while retaining the essence of chess that has allowed it to survive throughout history.
